Mossfield (Edit) is the latest single to be taken from Marconi Union’s critically acclaimed album ‘Dead Air’. With an intimate almost textural feel in a constantly evolving sound world of tones and sensory impressions it also has the subtle pulsation sound of breathing and processed human voice.
Praise for ‘Dead Air’
“As the fluid soundscapes gently whirl past Marconi Union add layer upon layer of drone, synths and slow-moving pulses to create a feeling of salubrious flux. ‘Dead Air’ is a fantastically rewarding album, submerging the listener in embryonic synths while gossamer melodies float above”
Clash Magazine
“The 10th album from Mancunion electronic minimalists Marconi Union is an exercise in beatless music at its best. Gentle drone, haunting repetition and celestial chords swirl together, forming elegant mini-epics that glide past like ice skaters observed through a winter mist”
Mojo
“A triumphant and slowly evolving ambient masterpiece that beguiles the listener with each gentle variation of mood and texture”
Electronic Sound
When the band originally set out to make the new album it was to have far more of a rhythmic element to it, but they decided quite late on in the recording process to change direction. This is essentially how Marconi Union work together as a band, their ideas remaining fluid until they ultimately decide on what feels right to all of them.

This album may surprise with its unexpected, sometimes odd sounds. It's like entropy disturbing the beauty in universe, to no avail though, as harmony always comes out.
Unconventional, brave and powerful. Easily fitting among best electronica ever. sergpot
